Rose Bud

by Rick Brentlinger
(Pace, FL, USA)

He makes a blushing rosebud
The object of His care;
Exquisite in its beauty,
We see redemption there.

The soft and scarlet petals,
God's blood do signify;
The prickly thorns upon the stem,
The death He came to die.

The myriad silver dewdrops,
Our Savior's anguish speak;
Reveal the broken heart within,
Flow coursing down His cheek.

Warm sunshine on the petals-
God's love for His dear Son;
The fragrance of the flower,
God's grace so dearly won.
