From time to time I receive strange emails, a few threatening death but most making less specific threats like this one, apparently from a pyromaniac wannabe.

I guess it is appropriate that this site receives a death threat on 9/11. There are those still out there who see themselves as the punishing hand of GOD. Like the extremists who terrorize the world to enslave all under THEIR rigid belief system.

It is true there are people who name the name of The Prince of Peace (Jesus)to spread bigotry and hatred. All that is done in the name of Jesus, IS NOT CHRISTIAN (of Christ). How it must cause our Saviour pain to see all that has been done in his name.

His response to our sin and disobedience was to willingly go to the cross. IN LOVE He allowed his creations to beat, humiliate and kill Him. The greatest expression of love was the Son of God being punished for our sins. He even exceeded that love when in his agony he cried out for the Father to forgive them (humankind) for they didn't know what they were doing.

In the the book of Hebrews it says: "how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation that our Christ brought down to man."

We as gay believers must pray for those who hate us and wish us harm or even death. God's word says: "if you have not love for your brother then the love of God is not in you."

There is no room for hate in the heart of those who call themselves CHRISTIANS (followers of the Messiah). There was no guile (evil, hate) in Him (Jesus), nor can there be in those who follow after Him. This person if sincere, surely has found religion. Sadly they have not met EMANUEL (God with us). Our response to this attack needs to be met with tears, compassion and much prayer. Knowing Rick , I'm sure that was his response.

May the love of Jesus pierce the darkness of the heart of this person who wrote these hateful angry words. May the light and freedom of the love of Yeshua (Jesus) set them free through the salvation (sacrifice) of the Prince of peace.
