Don't be afraid of the clobber passages

The clobber passages are often used like a weapon against gays and lesbians. The clobber verses most often quoted to "prove" that being gay or lesbian is wrong are as follows.
  1. Genesis 2:24
  2. Genesis 19
  3. Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13
  4. Romans 1:26-27
  5. 1 Corinthians 6:9
  6. 1 Timothy 1:10
  7. Romans 1:31 and 2 Timothy 3:3
  8. Jude 6-7
I have provided in depth answers to the clobber verses on this website and in my book, Gay Christian 101. For informative answers which are faithful to the Bible and are in context, click on the NavBar buttons under, What The Bible Says.

There are also helpful answers to questions people ask on this page.

Remember that most Christians are unfamiliar with the context of the clobber passages. They usually parrot something someone else told them instead of reading and studying the Bible for themselves.

Be loving and patient with them and always point them to what scripture says, in context. Honest folks will get it eventually because truth has a way of making an impression on every heart willing to receive it.

My personal testimony also has lots of good links which explain the clobber passages.

Original question:

"I have a religious friend (I am not religious). She quoted from the bible some verses that she claims says god does not approve of gays.

Leviticus 18:22
Leviticus 20:13
Jude 7
Romans 1:26-27
1 Corinthians 6:9-1.

Like I say, I'm not religious, but I do believe in gay rights and I really like this woman. Can I possibly answer her biblical quotes to maybe get her to rethink her opinions? Any help is appreciated."
