God delights in saving gays and everyone else who repents of sin and trusts Jesus Christ alone for salvation.

Nothing in the Bible indicates that God is in the business of changing people's sexual orientation.

So the answer to your question is, Yes, God wants gays to stay gay because that's the way He made them.

That doesn't mean God wants people to live sinful lives or promiscuous lives or selfish lives. Gays and lesbians who get saved are changed into the image of Christ, from glory to glory, as they walk with the Lord and obey Him day by day.

Jesus indicates that one's sexual orientation is fixed at birth and is not a matter of personal choice, Matthew 19:3-12.

Romans 1:26-27 deals with a particular historical situation in first century Rome. Cybele, the Protectress of Rome and the reigning fertility goddess of first century Rome, was worshiped by throngs of people in five worship sites across the Imperial city.

Paul specifically pointed out the sinfulness of women and men who rejected the true God to worship false gods like Cybele. Paul in no way intended his words to be misinterpreted to apply to lesbian couples or gay couples.

A leopard's spots...

Asking this question implies ignorance of the subject. It not only presumes something's "wrong" with being gay, but it implies it can and SHOULD be changed... as if a leopard can change his spots...

as if any straight person can change into being gay. We ALL are hard-wired to be a certain way... it's as simple as that, and our input was not solicited when the Creator made us.

Dorothy, Jeremy asked an honest and valid question, in my opinion. There is so much condemnation preached about gays and lesbians, its natural to wonder if its okay to be a gay Christian and not buy into the Exodus International anti-gay rhetoric.

I don't know if Jeremy is gay or not but I think his question and my answer will be helpful to some folks who are questioning.

Salvation has nothing to do with straright or gay

It is so funny the way gay and straight people try to defend there view on salvation. You see there is no difference in Gods eyes on straight or Gay or the degree of our sins we have committed.

The scripture says: But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
Rom 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

You see Hitler himself which I believe to be a chief sinner could have been saved if he had believed on Christ. Judas who betrayed Christ could have been saved if he had believed or trusted in Jesus.

How sad to think that we in any way have something to do with our Salvation. This is the Devils tool. He gives people a heavenly way to go to hell. He lets people think that they in their own righteousness and self will can attain Heaven. Friends it is not possible.

It doesn't matter if you are a prostitute a murderer a drug addict or John Paul the II. Unless you realize that Jesus was God who came in Flesh and died for you personally for all your sins Past present and future... You will be lost.

The scripture says: Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

You see there will be no one up in Heaven who will be able to say, Hey I made it because I did so and so. God has shut up everyone's mouth because salvation is by grace it is unmerited. This means there is absolutely nothing you can do to earn it.

It is completely free to us because Jesus who was God came in the flesh and paid for it himself all of it not just part of it. That is why the scripture can say John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

So many people are struggling to do good and to live right. Although God does want us to do those things, they have nothing to do with going to heaven. Jesus was provided as a substitute for us.

Like the picture in the Old testament of the animals that were sacrificed to make atonement for the sins of the Jewish people, Christ was the last and only Sacrifice God provided for us. He is the spotless lamb that takes away the sins of the world.

If you are one of these people (gay or straight), thinking you have to do something to go to heaven. I hope you will simply Trust Christ and what he did on the cross to take you there.

This belief is not just simply knowing that Christ was a historical figure, but knowing that what he did was for you personally.

Without works

"ergo nomou" which you translate without works actually is a reference to the works of the Mosaic Law: circumcision, kosher diet,calendar rituals etc. Paul uses this over and over again to refer to the primary means by which Jews self identified.

While I agree that we are saved by Grace you must accommodate Paul's and others statements that Faith works through Love. Even in the opening and closing verses of Romans Paul says that he came to bring about "the obedience of Faith" through his apostolate. There is more than Faith alone.

I can have faith great enough to move mountains but not having love, I am nothing. Christians self identify by faith working through love. This may have little to do with whether gays or straights are acceptable to God based on sexual orientation but a wider question as to how anyone is identified by God as saved. We don't just say "Lord, Lord" but DO the Will of the Father".

Romans and Galatians were written to point out that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, without any human works.

Justification is forensic (a legal declaration by God), not infused (based on our good works or our ability to keep the law or the ability of a religious institution to convey grace to us).

The law stands for anything man can do which he thinks will earn him salvation.

Grace is the antithesis of law and law is the antithesis of grace.

The law is exactly what God told Israel to do to be in right relationship with Him. Keeping the law represents the pinnacle of human good works. And yet, scripture tells us:

"Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified." -Galatians 2:16

"Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law." -Galatians 3:21

Gay Christian, an oxymoron...

Can someone be a shy extravert, a happy sad person or a gay Christian? Put simply in oxymoron context...N0. God abhores the sexual practice of homosexuals and plainly states that their choice will keep them out of heaven. Let's look at plain common sense. If there were 3 islands set 5,000 miles apart from each other and no means to get off of those islands, which would have the best chance of survival after 80 years given the same set of circumstances. Island 1 has 200 gay men, island 2 has 200 gay women and island 3 has 100 men and 100 women (both straight people). Islands 1 & 2 will not be able to procreaete and die off while island 3 will flourish. Isn't it just common sense that gay relationships aren't even natural let alone Godly?

u say in this forum that Jesus says that people are born with there sex orient in the script Matthew 19:3-12. i assume its where he says eunuchs are born that way. but eunuchs are just men with deformed or castrated genitals. and even if u say that they meant people that are homosexual when they say eunuchs. that still doesnt make any sense. because that doesnt prove that gay isnt a sin. people are born with being mute, blind, deaf, crippled, and other way worse conditions there all born with it and in a world without sin that wouldnt exist. and god does heal people of that (NOTICE i am NOT saying being deaf or blind etc etc is a sin in and of itself but its deffinitly the result of our sinful world or a generational curse which is what a born gay person could have a gen curse)

btw id like to know how guys gals explain this scripture where it clearly says that men laying with men is a detestable sin (all sin is detestable theres no great or small sin all is equal) and that they must be put to death. Leviticus 20:13 that be interesting for me to hear

Greater Sin

Strange that Jesus would comment to Pilate that Judas for his betrayal was guilty of the greater sin if all sins were equal. John's Epistle notes that not all sins are deadly(mortal). So I believe that the traditional teaching of the Church about the distinction among sins makes sense.
While folks may accept one interpretation or another I believe it makes sense to study what the weight of the evidence says. Neither Sola Fide nor Sola Scriptura are the only way to understand the evidence.

What is sin disobedience to god or imperfection (breaking of gods law). what is the penalty for sin death. so regardless of whether or not a sin is worse than another even the smallest of infractions without jesus sacrifice for us does lead to the same penalty for all eternity. so yes all sin is equal because it is a eternal offense to our holy perfect god and will be punished in the same way as so called quote unquote greater sins.

(below is my opinion)
frankly when jesus said he was guilty of the greater sin he was speaking as a human who has to give sins a scale. But as a God he would say its the same

Greater Sin

I just don't see how your interpretation of those verses comes from anything but your own ideas. Certainly Jesus' sacrifice atones for all sin. However to assume that all sins are the same or equal does not follow from the sufficiency of His Death and resurrection. Even Matthew's Gospel says that Sinners do not get out of prison until they have paid the last penny. Paul says that our construction on the foundation laid by Christ would be tested from gold to straw and we would be saved "as through fire". So there seems to be some kind of difference in virtue . Doesn't a difference in the wickedness of sin make sense.

to a eternal God who says the wages of sin is death that means that even 1 sin is death correct? i mean he didnt put a thing on it saying if u commit a lesser sin u only get 10000 yrs in hell or whatever maybe u get fined. no he said sin = death so from that view pnt to God himself all sin is prettymuch equal when it comes to punishment. and regardless of the greatness or non greatness of the sin. sin is sin and therefore should be abhored and completely rebuked from our lives. not to say that thats even possible for a human but that what we should strive for. from a humanist pnt of view sins have to have lvls otherwise wed have to either kill anyone for speeding or do nothin to murders some craziness like that any way

um dude who made up that riddle? that is ridiculous and like the other person said laughable. cause ok from my point of view yes 200 gay men on an island the island will be gone as soon as they the guys die out same for the women, but on the hetero island if you got 100 men and 100 women mating you are going to have too many problems little ones like fornication, adultery etc

then the big one if they keep mating the island will become too populated to exist and there would be war and killing and pain and in the end that island too would fail to exist as well. while the two islands consisting of same sex couples went out of existence peacefully peacefully.

what u blame on overpopulation is just the result of a fallen world. This planet is one big island, and we would if we continue to populate without God's supervision. We would also overpopulate and cause wars in fact thats exactly what were doing. I never said how big the island was. You all assumed that. Besides regardless of whether or not the arguement is stupid or not to u (i think its a awesome one). The fact still remains that being gay is a sin.

As the bible says it is, period no ifs, ands, or buts. You can not explain it away by saying they meant enuchs or say we dont have to obey it cuz its in the old testament. The fact is God made marriage 1 man 1 woman united (like puzzle pieces) and anything that is not THAT WAY (when i use CAPS im emphasing not yelling) in a sexual relationship under marriage is evil and wrong.

I think alot of gay ppl confuse what love is for emotions. Love is what God says it is between who God says its between. u can have a combo of lust and a brotherly love for someone and think its actual love that God talks about for man and woman but its not. there is evil verisons of love (not that love is evil its that we have distorted and twisted it). ppl that have sex with animals say they love animals. Ppl that say they love 5 yrs olds and there 50 really do think they love them, but they dont have a Godly love for them, or they wouldnt be having sex with the 5 yr old.

no where in the bible is a same sex relationship between 2 ppl encouraged or even given a story were its picture is positive.

U saved people CANNOT HONESTLY tell me that when you got saved there werent things in your life that you thought were awesome, good, Godly or if not that things that were fine God should have no problem with this. But God had a big problem with it and you were like really God u have a issue with this WHY, HOW is this bad.

How can we as sinners know what is right and wrong we cant only God and His Word knows. its like blind ppl telling ppl that can see what light looks like. its ridiculous

ALOTTTT of gay ppl are gay because they missed out on there moms or there dads love when they were growing up. or they were molested or something along those lines

u will go to hell for any one of these unless u accept Jesus as ur saviour, make Him your Lord (which means u surrender ALL of your own will to his/do what he says to do and not to do) and repent of all your sins. God can only forgive you of your sin if u are willing to repent of it if your not ur still in sin. if u cant repent even if ud like to thats a good start just pray about it ull be fine.

1 John 1:9- basically repent of ur sins and ull be forgiven - repent - to realize what you have done is evil and wrong and want nothing more to do with it, even if you still feel that way or still want to do it you dont do the act and you pray that God delivers you from it. AND HE WILL

he has for me from porn and masterbation. and ill give you something that was a huge help repent of the cause not the symptom porn gayness

masterbation there all the cause of a fornicating and adulteress heart. so for me i had to repent and pray for help from porn masterbation and fornication and adulteress heart u go to the doctor to kill the bacteria not to cover the symptoms.

Were all sexual deviants lol and its not gonna happen over night unless God really shows you some favor cuz its been a 2 yr BATTLE FOR ME. Still not completely won so id appreciate prayers for myself brother sisters, but regardless ill pray for you all.

nobody's born that way

Hi everyone, I found this site in a search result. I searched why do people think God wants them to be gay. There's no where in the bible does it say it's okay to be Gay or Lesbian. The Matthew verse basically refers to men abstaining from sex.

I haven't searched through the website to know exactly what everyone here is about as far as their walk with God, but the title gaychristian just sounds confusing.

I read in Romans 1:26 and it clearly shows how wrong this is. It's all about our relationship with the Lord, people have fell far away from God's laws and they don't Love and obey him over everything else. Sort of like how God tested Abraham with sacrificing his son. God knows he loved his son, but he wanted to see if he loved him more than he loved his son.

I think it's difficult for gay or lesbian people to understand this because their minds are already trained to think differently. It's sad because young girls who aren't satisfied with their appearance as a girl, change their appearance to more boyish, and over time they start to feel comfortable with themselves and find it hard to change. It's all an attack from satan.

I don't believe a gay or lesbian can be raptured, because Jesus is only taking those who are ready. Luckily if they are left behind, they will start to realize their mistake and can hopefully find the truth.

Was there a full moon last night?

Periodically we receive confused goofy inane comments, often coinciding with a full moon. tampabay guy's comment and the idiotic rant before that are good examples. These comments share three similarities.

1. They demonstrate an amazing lack of Biblical knowledge.

2. They brazenly assume we are ignorant of what the Bible says in context.

3. They are worded in a way which demonstrates the blind as a goose in a hailstorm ignorance of the individual making the comment.

I usually delete such comments but from time to time I post some of the goofy comments to let readers know we still have educational and evangelistic work to do.
