Does the Bible say anything about watching gay sex online?

Our conduct as Christians is supposed to glorify our holy God. Often we fall short of living up to God's standard due to laziness or self-will, where we intentionally do what we know is wrong or due to drifting with the immoral current of our time.

Sin always begins in the heart, either with what we think OR with what we see. Is "just watching" sinful behavior for Christians? Remember that King David SAW Bathsheba bathing and SEEING her led to the sins of adultery and murder (of her husband Uriah, 2 Samuel 11:1ff.). Jesus informs us that sin can take place in our heart BEFORE there is any physical contact, Matthew 5:27-28, so we need to carefully guard what we THINK and what we SEE.

The Bible has a lot to say about our thoughts and what we view with our eyes. Here are verses which help wise and spiritual Christians answer your excellent question. It will help you grow spiritually and live a life pleasing to God if you memorize some of these verses.

1. "If a man LOOKS on a woman to LUST after her, he has committed adultery with her already in his heart." Matthew 5:28

Even looking without having physical contact can be sin, according to Jesus.

2. "I made a covenant with my eyes not to LOOK LUSTFULLY at a girl." Job 31:1

Common sense tells us the same rules apply for same sex attracted individuals.

3. "I will set no UNCLEAN THING before my eyes." Psalm 101:3

4. "And when Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivite, the prince of the land, SAW HER, he took her and lay with her by force." Genesis 34:2

5. "Now when evening came David arose from his bed and walked around on the roof of the king's house, and from the roof he SAW A WOMAN BATHING; and the woman was very beautiful in appearance.

So David sent and inquired about the woman. And one said, 'Is this not... the wife of Uriah the Hittite?' And David sent messengers and took her, and when she came to him, he lay with her... And the woman conceived; and she sent and told David, and said, 'I am pregnant.'"
2 Samuel 11:2-5

6. "And Judah SAW there a daughter of a certain Canaanite whose name was Shua; and he took her and went in to her. So she conceived and bore a son and he named him Er." Genesis 38:2-3

7. "When Judah SAW her, he thought she was a harlot.... So he turned aside to her by the road, and said, 'Here now, let me come in to you'; ...And she said, 'What will you give me, that you may come in to me?'" Genesis 38:15-16

8. "Now Samson went to Gaza and SAW a harlot there, and went in to her." Judges 16:1

"So he came back and told his father and mother, 'I SAW a woman in Timnah, one of the daughters of the Philistines; now therefore, get her for me as a wife.'

Then his father and his mother said to him, 'Is there no woman among the daughters of your relatives, or among all our people, that you go to take a wife from the uncircumcised Philistines?'

But Samson said to his father, 'Get her for me, for SHE LOOKS GOOD TO ME.'"
Judges 14:2-3

9. "Keep your hearts and MINDS in Christ Jesus... Whatsover things are pure... if there be any virtue... THINK on these things." Philippians 4:7-8

10. "For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God." Ephesians 5:5

11. "For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine" 1 Timothy 1:10

12. "Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge." Hebrews 13:4

13. "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." Revelation 21:8

14. "For without are dog, and sorcerers, and
whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie."
Revelation 22:15

15. "All things are naked and opened to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do." Hebrews 4:13

16. "Be sure your sin will find you out." Numbers 32:23

17. "Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body." 1 Corinthians 6:18

18. "Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you... therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's." 1 Corinthians 6:18-20

19. "Then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and DESTROY ALL THEIR PICTURES, and destroy all their molten images, and quite pluck down all their high places:" Numbers 33:52

20. "And that she increased her whoredoms: for when she SAW men portrayed upon the wall, the images of the Chaldeans portrayed with vermilion, Girded with girdles upon their loins, exceeding in dyed attire upon their heads, all of them princes to look to... as soon as she SAW them with her eyes, she doted upon them... and the Babylonians came to her into the bed of love..." Ezekiel 23:14-17

Christians should be focused on serving God, not seeing how much sin we can get away with. Our lives should be lived in God's grace and holiness so that we point the lost to Jesus as Savior from sin and selfishness. Are you living as a disciple of Jesus? Are you witnessing for Jesus? Is anything about your life different than the lives of your unsaved co-workers?

If you listen to the same music they listen to, go to the same concerts they enjoy, watch the same TV programs they love, frequent the same bars they frequent, live by the same moral standards they live by, use the same cuss words they use, isn't it time to ask yourself Why? If you profess to be saved but you live like your lost friends, something is wrong with you.

Our job as Christians is to 1. preach the gospel, so that 2. the lost get saved.

Memory verse: "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me." Galatians 2:20

Many professing Christians live like atheists. They rarely read their Bible. They make no effort to memorize scripture. They don't care enough about lost folks to even memorize verses about getting saved. They never attempt to learn basic Bible doctrine. They rarely witness for Jesus and sadly, their lack of testimony doesn't trouble their conscience.

Their life is virtually indistinguishable from the life of a lost man on his way to hell. They go to church and sometimes they even go to Bible study, as long as it is entertaining, as long as no one confronts them about their backslidden condition. Brethren, these things ought not so to be.

Our Who Is Jesus Bible study will help you grow spiritually.
