Did Jesus say anything about same sex lovers being sin?

You've asked some interesting questions. Jump to Dawn's original questions.

Its perfectly natural for some women to be interested in cars and other things which are more commonly viewed as 'boy things.' Its also perfectly natural for some men to be interested in fashion design or owning/working in a women's hair salon.

Neither interest automatically indicates a woman is a lesbian or a man is gay. You've told us you "like women." If that means you're a lesbian, being a lesbian is just as natural, just as normal for you as being attracted to guys is normal for women who are not lesbians.

Why do I like women? The best answer I can give you is that liking women or liking men is an innate orientation characteristic. Its kind of like asking, Why am I left-handed or Why do I like ice cream? We don't know exactly why. Its partly a matter of DNA - we inherit many characteristics which make us unique and it may be partly a matter of nurture, how we grow up and how we learn to experience the world around us.

Did Jesus say anything about same sex lovers being sin? No, nothing in the Bible and nothing Jesus said during His earthly ministry indicates that loving someone of the same sex is sinful.

Many churches and many Christians contradict my statement above because they misinterpret a few verses of the Bible which, when taken out of context, seem to say that its wrong for two men to have a sexual relationship.

Oddly enough, no verse in the Old Testament and only one verse in the New Testament (Romans 1:26), is sometimes interpreted to mean that its wrong for two women to have a committed partnership which includes sex.

Because I've already answered the same sex question so many times on this website, I'll simply give the Links below, which you can explore at your leisure.

same sex lovers
by: scott a.

well rick if you can justify your homosexuality and say the bible never speaks about it. Which is a complete lie. Well then i guess when the bible says thou shalt not kill it really meant something else eh rick?or we could justify any sin in the bible and say no it really dosent mean what it says.and just continue to live a delusional life in sin.

Rick's comment: Hi Scott - Is it possible you are skimming instead of reading this website carefully so you will understand what we believe? "Rightly dividing the word of truth" is not justifying someone's behavior.

2 Timothy 2:15 instructs us to handle scripture carefully and honestly, factoring in context. God's blessings as you walk the path of His purpose for your life.

This is a serious question
by: Biarnca

Hey I have asked a question at youth today. And said Is loving the same gender disobeying god. I was a bit scared because I am a 17 year old who is dating a girl. For almost five months and yes I’m Cristian but what is the real answer to this. Is it a sin is it not I don’t know. I have been a Cristian for five years and god has changed my whole life. I love my girlfriend so much that it hurts me if it was a sin. Because funnily enough I think it’s not a bad thing I honestly could be wrong who knows. I have read the bible lots of times and it didn’t mention same sex relationships. Yet again I could be wrong I asked many people this question and heard different answers. So is it a sin to fall in love with someone who is the same gender.

Rick's comment: Hi Biarnca - Thanks for the serious question you've asked. I provide a serious answer to your question in the article and in the links at the end of the article.

The short answer is: No, it is not wrong to fall in love with someone who is the same gender.

I encourage you to read the New Testament from cover to cover. There are only 260 chapter in the New Testament so if you read two or three chapters a day, you can finish the NT in three or four months.

It's always better to read the Bible for yourself so you'll know what it says than to take someone's word for what it says.

Is it ok to be lesbian?
by: Iyinoluwa Owoeye

I’m a lesbian is it ok to be one since the sodom and Gomorrah incident and is it a sin to have sexual feelings for the same sex?

Rick's comment: Hi Iyinoluwa Owoeye - Yes, it is Okay to be a lesbian and it's okay to be in a committed relationship or marriage with a woman.

The thing to be sure about is: Am I saved? Have I trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior?

Crush on the same gender
by: Tanisha, Jean-louis

hi I have a question, I am 15 year old Christian girl who just discovered that I am attracted to woman and men and I do not know if its right or not, during the quarantine I gave my life to Jesus, and I still am Christian and I wanted to known if its okay , because I have a crush on a girl at my school and I do not know if I am doing the rigth thing or not.

Rick's comment: Hi
Tanisha- I am SO happy you gave your heart to Jesus and believed on Him as your Savior from sin, hell and the wrath of God.

Believing on Jesus Christ as your Savior is the best decision you've ever made.

I hope you will get a good old fashioned King James Bible and read the New Testament and then, read it again.

It is normal, at fifteen, for a girl to have a crush on a girl and /or, on a guy. A girl having a crush on another girl doesn't mean you are gay, doesn't mean you are a lesbian.

If it turns out that you are a lesbian, that is perfectly fine but I think it's too early for you, in your situation, to know that for sure.

I hope you will focus on making friends with girls and guys and learning how to be a good, lifelong friend.

And I hope you will also focus on studying and learning all you can learn about life and loving Jesus and serving God.

Learn about computers and smart phones. Learn how to build your own computer. Learn how to fix a bike and a car.

Learn how to swim and how to work out and how to start a business.

Learn how to be a genuine Bible-focused disciple of Jesus.

In other words, don't be too focused on having a girlfriend or a boyfriend at this point in your life.

Focus on learning how to walk with Jesus every day and how to stand out from the crowd instead of being part of the crowd.

Never go along to get along.

Always think for yourself.

Always stand up for truth.

Always take God's side in any argument.

Be the godly Christian girl that everyone looks up to because you are a faithful Christian.

Be a leader instead of a follower.

At the end of the article you read, I gave links to additional helpful information.

God bless you Tanisha. God is going to do great things in your life. He is going to use you to win souls to Jesus and be a blessing to many people.

This link explains in simple language, how to lead someone to believe on Christ as their Savior.

I hope you'll read it over and over so that it becomes part of your spiritual life.

by: layla m.d

My name is layla. im 16 and im a catholic. I've lately been thinking alot about this girl at my school. We are really good friends and I might have a crush on her. I dont really know yet, but she hangs out alot with this other girl whom shes known since she was 4. The other day at school she left early and came into my classroom and gave the other girl a hug. I was so surprised with how i felt. I was feeling SUPER jealous. and i was wondering if they were a couple. Thats when i realized what i was thinking. So idk what to think or to do. My parents strongly are Catholic and i don't wanna talk to them because im scared and idk what these feelings will become. But i think of her all the time, i get butterflies when i see her and when we hang out. I also have some guy crushes but not as strong but i would in the future have sexual intercourses with men but not women thats what is throwing me off. im just attracted to this one girl. Everything about her. But no other women and some guys too from before i had feelings for her. Please help me. And am i sinning if i feel this way about her? I dont know what to do or think.

Rick's comment: Hi
layla m.d- My answer is much the same as what I wrote to Tanisha. It is normal, at sixteen, for a girl to have a crush on a girl and /or, on a guy. A girl having a crush on another girl doesn't mean you are gay, doesn't mean you are a lesbian.
