All Spiritual Blessings

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:" Ephesians 1:3

When God saves us He gives us all spiritual blessings in Christ. These blessings have nothing to do with being religious or joining a particular church. They are not something we can work for and earn. Instead they are freely given to us by God's grace.

God gives the same spiritual blessings equally to everyone He saves without being more partial to some than to others. No Christian gets more spiritual blessings than you and no Christian gets less.

Its interesting to remember that its impossible to have more spiritual blessings than "all." God gives us these blessings by His grace for our good and His glory.

We cannot get more spiritual blessings by fasting or by works or by praying for more or by denying ourselves something, like giving up chocolate for Lent. When God says "all" He means all.

We should also remember that spiritual blessings are different than spiritual gifts. Spiritual blessings are given equally to every Christian but spiritual gifts are not given equally to every Christian. The Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts based on His knowledge of what a particular believer will need to serve Jesus, 1 Corinthians 12:4, 8-11.

What are these spiritual blessings
that God gives us?

1. We are chosen, Eph 1:4
   
2. We are predestined, Eph 1:5
   
3. We are adopted, Eph 1:5
   
4. We are accepted, Eph 1:6
   
5. We are redeemed, Eph 1:7
   
6. We are forgiven, Eph 1:7
   
7. We are enlightened, Eph 1:8,9
   
8. We have an inheritance, Eph 1:11
   
9. We are sealed, Eph 1:14
   
10. We have assurance, Eph 1:14

These are not all of the spiritual blessings God freely gives us when we get saved but this is a good start if you want to study spiritual blessings.

God has already provided everything we need in Christ. Next time you're feeling discouraged, down and depressed, remember that God has already given you all spiritual blessings in Christ.
